Alma M. Sigora

Alma Hobgood Sigora, age 88, died in her home on Thursday, November 24, 2022. She was born in Granville County, NC on November 6, 1934, to her late parents, Wilbur Ormond Hobgood and Erma Denny Hobgood.

Alma was a lifelong resident of Granville County; where she married Joseph Sigora, raised two boys and retired with more than 30 years of service to the Granville County school system as a Teacher’s Assistant. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, the Methodist Women’s Group, and the Retired Teachers Association.

Alma is survived by her sons, Joseph Wilbur Sigora (Tanya) and Andrew Neal Sigora (Emma) and her grandchildren, Andrew Joseph “AJ” and Camilla Leigh and many extended family members and friends too numerous to name.

Alma was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Ronald Sigora, her parents and her sister, Doris Newton.

A funeral service officiated by Rev. Denny Freeland and Rev. Jack Ruth will be held on Monday, November 28, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church, 6543 Goshen Road, Oxford, NC 27565. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall on the same day.
