Allene Tripp Campbell

Mrs. Allene Tripp Campbell, 88, formerly of US 15-501 North, Chapel Hill, died October 14, 2008 at The Laurels of Chatham in Pittsboro. Mrs. Campbell was born in Chatham County oneeptember 18, 1920, a daughter of William Floyd Tripp and Norvella Herndon Tripp. She was a graduate of Bynum School, and retired from Blue Cross / Blue Shield where she worked as a claims processor. Mrs. Campbell was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Mary Campbell of Chapel Hill; a daughter, Shirley Mauer of Pittsboro; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen Brasington of Pittsboro, and her twin, Clarene Campbell of Sanford. Mrs. Campbell was preceded ineeath by her parents; her husband, John Wade Campbell; one brother, and 3 sisters. The service celebrating Mrs. Campbell's life will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, October 17, 2008 from Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, with Rev. Dan Robinson presiding. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 7:00 - 8:30 pm, Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Griffin Funeral Service in Pittsboro, and at other times at the residence of Mrs. Shirley Mauer.
