Albert Franklineert Barnette. II of Moncure, NC left his earthly home for his heavenly home on Thursday, February 19, 2010 surrounded by loved ones. Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 30 years, Linda Marie Echols Barnette, daughters; Alison Bree Barnette and Lindsay Nicole Barnette, a son Adam Brent Barnette, and the latest blessing a precious granddaughter, Natalie Marie Barnette all of Moncure, NC. Beineespecially proud of his home state of West Virginia, he often spoke that he was born and raised in St. Albans, WV. Bert was born on neember 5, 1948 to Albert F. and Nanee Georgia Barnette, who preceded him ineeath, as well as a brother, Sherwood Barnette Jean. He is survived by brothers Don Barnette Wilma of Cleveland, Georgia, Mike Barnette Sarah of Scott Depot, and a sister Janette Barnette of Alameda, California, along with cherished nieces and nephews. Bert graduated from West Virginia State Uneersity in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. After beginning his career in public accounting with Tuckwiller and Gleason CPA's, he began a 36 year career ineealthcare finance. Serving 18 years at St. Francis Hospital in Charleston WV, as Assistant Vice President of Finance and leaving to work at Wetzel County Hospital ineew Martinsville, WV. He assisted in positive financial growth as Chief Financial Officer for 10 years at Summersville Memorial Hospital, Summersville, WV and also, Barnwell County Hospital, Barnwell, South Carolina. Bert was instrumental in the receneexpansion and construction of Chatham County Hospital, Siler City, NC. Professional affiliations include Past President of the WV Chapter of Healthcare Financial Maneement Association and 2005-2006 President of Chatham County Uneed Chamber of Commerce. Bert was an avid sports fan and attended many WVU football games. He coached his children's basketball and soccer games. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at the beach, ski trips in the mountains, jet skiing on the lake, and a day on the golf course was always good. His faith was strong and he was active in church. Bert's presence filled a room, always positive and full of laughter. He loved and was loved, and will be missed immensely. A Memorial Service will be held at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, Griffin Chapel in Pittsboro, NC, on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 4:00pm. Visitation will follow the Memorial Service.
