Dear Mary and Bill,

We are so saddened to learn of your father’s passing; he was a special man. We loved having him as our neighbor and good friend. During the eleven years we lived next door, we felt your father was always someone to call on if we needed anything. I remember one time, while at the grocery store, he rescued my toddler and me when we locked ourselves out of the car. If we had a question about gardening or machinery, we could draw upon his knowledge there as well. He was like a grandfather to our boys, often stopping by to say, “hello” and passing out popsicles or ice cream. Many a Halloween he’d treat the boys with a special Halloween bag of goodies. Our boys loved your father too. And I so enjoyed just sitting and chatting with him to hear about his life growing up in Wappinger Falls, NY. What a lovely time and place it must have been hunting in the woods as a boy. Ed loved you all very much and often spoke of you.

Please know that we feel honored to have known your dad, we miss him, and our thoughts and prayers are with you now. Blessings.

Dear Jennifer and Bob

Thank you so much for the kind words and blessing.

My father always spoke highly about you and your sons. He was a firm believer in helping others and this helped shape our outlook on life to carry his believes forward. I want to thank you both for looking after him and making sure he was ok when we couldn’t reach him on the phone. I know it was a comfort for him just to see you guys from time to time to know you were there for him.

Dad is now in a more peaceful place and he enjoyed the friends he made during the last 2 years in Cambridge Assisted Living in Pittsboro. Thank you so much. Bill and Mary Merendoni
