I remember Mary Catherine as Butch’s younger sister as I visited in their home when Butch and I were teenagers. She was witness to our comings and goings with our Sea Explorer Scout Troop activities. Mary Catherine was always patient with us and a good sister to Butch. Rest In Peace, Mary Catherine. May God hold you in the palm of His hand. Bill and Susan Dickerson

Mary Katherine and I grew up on Baker Street in Oxford. I think all of us that grew up there have so many memories of all the fun we had. We roller skated, rode bikes, played croquet in the Talton yard, played basketball, played kick the can, played Simon Said, and we played Hide and Seek. It is a wonder we did not break our necks as we were on roller skates and being pulled by someone on a bicycle around a sharpe sidewalk curve. I remember walking to the Community Grocery Store on Broad Street to get a popcicle. We all loved eating pears from the trees in Mr. and Mrs. Baker’s yard. They were the best pears I have ever eaten. I also have memories of going to Fort Caswell on vacation with the Talton family. Mary Katherine would go with our family to White Lake for our vacation. About half of the families on Baker Street would be at White Lake together for a week. The families were the Currin,Watson, Barnes and Young. My brother Walter and Butch were about the same age. I know you will miss May Katherine as much as I have missed Walter the past 19 months. Youvatecin my thoughts and prayers. Wish I could have been at the graveside service.
