Mary Jane was a special neighbor and friend. She went with me to a Chihuly exhibit in Mebane. She had so many stories to tell about her childhood, marriage and children. She was a real survivor, she had courage and humor and so much talent. She said as we went for lunch, “you drive; I’ll pay for lunch” and she insisted. We cooked meals for each other, and hers were always perfectly seasoned. There were times when I would walk by and smell the food she was preparing and my mouth would water. Then she told me about washing ALL the linens including the mattress pads when she was expecting guests. She was accomplished, refined and fun. I am already missing her. My world is reduced with her leaving this earthly life. I am truly sorry for your loss.
