Condolence from Dee on July 16th, 2011 12:00 am

Part 2 We said our goodbyes last night. She was alert and sharp to the end. I have never loved anyone as deeply as I loved my Mother. She was always there unconditionally for me; and as some of you know, I am not the easiest person to be around sometimes. I have a lot of regrets concerning my behavior, but she was the one person who always understood my pain and frustration and never turned her back on me. No one could ever have a friend as good as she was to me. Arrangements will be made later today. Thank you for your love and support. I will not forget.

Condolence from Dee on July 16th, 2011 12:00 am

For those of you that knew my Mom or were aware of her situation, this is to inform you that she passed away peacefully this morning about 5:30 AM. As I was heading back to the Hospital, a bright full moon was setting in the west behind Duke North. All I could think of was that God left the light on for her. If any of you had parents that were born during the depression and endured WW II, you know why they were truly

I know how hard this day is for you. Your mom was a wonderful woman and I loved her very much. There was a beautiful full moon shining the day she died; I think it was showing her the way home. She wanted so much to be with Pete Sr., and I think they danced under that moon. Ny heart will be with you and I will pray for you each day. God will provide the mercy, grace and peace you need. God Bless You. Wanda

Condolence from Dee Shankle on November 26th, 2016 8:18 pm

Oh Momma, Pat died today. We just found out she was in the hospital for cancer treatment and she had some problems. Ernie said she was getting better and ate lunch with her today. She passed away sometime after that. I am so heartbroken and I miss You so much. Me , Petey and Pat came closer together when you left us. I wish it would have happened sooner- I love both of them so much. We are just very different people, but it was You and Dad that made us the same in many ways. Especially the Shankle “zest for life”. I want you to know I think of You and Dad every day. Me and Petey have stayed in touch with Pat over the last 4 years on a regular basis, even thought he frequency has had wider gaps with time. She always sounded good and seemed to be very happy. The unconditional love you gave each one of us has saved us all.
