Condolence from Judy Palmer Overby on April 14th, 2018 6:29 pm

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Margaret. After my mother, Hazel Cross Palmer passed in 2010 I began corresponding with Margaret as did my mother (her cousin) before. Over the years I have received many uplifting notes and cards that are genuine keepsakes. I wish I had the opportunity to know and see your loved one more intimately although through our correspondence with her l know what a dear and lovely person she was. Please accept my most sincere sympathies.

Condolence from Gail Stone Zedick, on May 19th, 2018 10:43 pm

Your mother was my first head nurse at Watts Hospital’s Intensive Care Nursery. I was so young and inexperienced but she showed more grace and patience than was deserved and taught me well. She showed me what nursing was all about beyond the books. Those were years my own mother experienced serious difficulties and Mrs Brown’s compassion for me was something I’ll never forget. I left the hospital after only a few years but ran into her on a later occasion when my mother was a patient. She sweetly asked ‘when are you going to come back to where you belong?’ I had never had such an expression of confidence in my nursing abilities as she affirmed me.

From the other messages here, I know she was a believer and I am grateful. She prayed, I”m sure, over many a child in her career. May you be blessed with many good memories of your Mom and be comforted in her eternal rest.

Condolence from Larae Weckerling on August 20th, 2018 10:59 pm

Betsy, Carol, and Bruce. So sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. Mrs B was my first head nurse in the SCN at Durham Regional and taught me so much about being a good nurse, a good person, a good mother, and a good friend. She made me the nurse and in a huge way the person I am today. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all and I’m sure your Mom is in Heaven with ‘her Calvin’ enjoying taking care of everyone and making them comfortable as she did on Earth. God Bless you all.
