Lionel “Chip” Bertrand Burnette, Jr., 51, of Oxford, NC died Sunday, August 18, 2019. He was born in Vance County on December 5, 1967 to Lionel Bertrand Burnette, Sr. and Lucinda “Cindy” Pittard Burnette.
Chip was a kind man with a great thirst for knowledge. A true engineer at heart, Chip wanted to know everything, and how it all worked. He was a “fixer”, a problem solver, a cat lover, and a real Jack-of-all-trades. He had the boundless ability to converse on just about any subject as if he were an expert in the field. His hunger for knowledge allowed him to accomplish a great many things. Chip had many talents and interest, but above all, he found his greatest joy in his two sons. He loved them dearly. They were his everything.
Chip is survived by his sons, Lionel “Trey” B. Burnette, III, and Curtis C. Burnette; parents, Lionel and Cindy Burnette; and his brother, Michael Burnette (Tonya). Chip is also survived by many other loving extended family and friends.
