December 8, 2007 By Hall-Wynne 8 Condolences

In Memorial

Mrs. Leslie Diane Quesenberry Simonet, 61, of Butterfly Court, Chapel Hill, died December 8, 2007 at her residence following a courageous battle with cancer. Leslie was born in Wise Co., VA on September 25, 1946, a daughter of M. S. “Ques” and Agnes Balcerski Quesenberry. Leslie graduated from Emory and Henry College and received her Masters degree in psychology from East Tennessee State University. She was an extraordinary person who cared deeply for others. She loved her family, her husband and soul mate of 40 years, Don; her children, and her grandchildren. Leslie enjoyed reading; she loved poetry, and her nature was reflected in her artistic abilities, especially in the pastel medium.
Leslie is survived by her husband, Don; her daughters, Whitney Simonet of Shawnee, KS and Sara Noblet, and her husband Dustin, of Excelsior Springs, MO; her son, Ryan Simonet of Kansas City, MO; her grandchildren, Jadyn and Spencer Noblet; a brother and sister-in-law, Spencer and Trina Quesenberry of Big Stone Gap, VA; and two sisters, Marsha Quesenberry of Big Stone Gap, VA, and Kathy Quesenberry of Ridgefield, CT. Her parents preceded her in death.
The celebration of Leslie’s life will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, December 10, 2007 at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church in Pittsboro. The Rev. Carl Edwards will preside.
Following the service, friends are invited to Leslie and Don’s residence for a reception.
The family asks that memorial contributions be directed to either: Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 5005 LBJ Fwy., Ste. 250, Dallas, TX 75244; or to the UNC Lineberger Cancer Center, for Dr. Jeff Peppercorn’s Research Department, 101 Manning Drive, Chapel Hill, NC 27514.

    Don and family,
we don’t know how to really express our feelings. Our thoughts have been with Leslie and Don all the time aand we are deeply sad and shocked how quick it all ended. We had hoped, together with everyone who loves you, that there would be a different outcome. From the bottom of our hearts we wanted you, the couple that came closest to being the perfect team for life we know, to live happily ever after. We will cherish the memory of Leslie and will keep her in our mind just as wonderful, beautiful, full of life and love, as we have seen both of you a year ago for a short visit at our place.
Don, needless to say, if there is anything…
We wish you that your family and friends will be able to help through the most difficult time and that you find new purpose soon. We feel that Leslie wants just that for you to happen, so make her proud of you.
    With Love
    Petra and Robert
