DURHAM – Janice Ann Frank, a longtime Durham resident, died Monday evening, January 8, 2007, at her home. She was born in Grove City, Pennsylvania to Laurence Keller Frank and Margaret Moorhouse Frank.
Janice received her bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University and her master’s degree in Psychology from Ohio State University, and also did advanced graduate studies under Dr. John Staddon at the University of Toronto and Duke University.
She most recently worked at Duke University Medical Center as a computer programmer and research data analyst in the Cardiology Division and the Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Janice was an active member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church where she was a member of the Altar Guild and designed the church’s web site. She also did extensive research on genealogical records from the Lancaster, Pennsylvania area.
Janice is survived by her husband, Bruce Carson Wright; her sisters, Mary Frank Shumaker and Susan Frank Pisano; her sisters’ children, Karen Shumaker Oliver, Susan Shumaker McGrath, Anthony Pisano, and Dominic Pisano; and Bruce’s sister, Melinda Wright Gallagher.
Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Saturday, January 13, 2007 from St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Durham. The Rev. Anne Hodges-Copple will preside.
Friends may visit Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to support lung cancer research at the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center, DUMC 3828, Durham, NC 27710.
