Dear Hewitt Family,
It is hard for me to think of Jim as anything but healthy and happy, he was someone I have very fond memories from my youth up until the last time I saw him and Carol and my mother’s funeral. We loved growing up with your family and I have vivid visions of your home in Racine with Owl decor and wonderful baked goods. We were so blessed to have such wonderful times together, I wish you strength and comfort, I hope he has reunited with Jan and they are looking down on us with love and devotion~
Peace and Joy,
Fondly
Cindy Rodi Madden

Dear Carol Hewitt and family,

Working with Jim for more than a decade, and being a friend much longer, it is hard to realize he’s gone. He and I shared a love of music, and our musical “get togethers” will be sorely missed. He was a great and understanding man, who had the respect of those who knew him. His sense of humor was always uplifting and our fun times together were great. Our sincere sympathy goes out to his Carol and his entire family.

We will remember Jim always.

Les and Gina Wilfong

Carol,
Jack and I offer our heart-felt condolences on Jim’s passing. We will miss him terribly. His dry wit and warm smile always made Sunday morning a treat. He was so wonderful to so many people. We specifically remember his dedication to Durham Interfaith Hospitality Network (now Families Moving Forward). His poetry will always live in our hearts.

With love and friendship,
Patricia Basta & Jack Hill

Dear Hewitt Family,
The mere mention of Jim Hewitt will always bring a smile to your face. He lived a full life of love, laughter and dear friendships. What beautiful happy memories we Rodi’s have of Jim and his family visiting us and playing games of pool and cards to the hysterical laughs of my parents.
I am comforted by the fact that he is in heaven with my mom. Their friendship lasted a lifetime and beyond.

Lots of love and prayers,

Patty Rodi

Jim was nothing but a class act. During his time at Qualex he taught me so much. His door was always open if you had a problem or you just wanted to talk he was there to listen and offer council. when you just wanted to BS Jim was a hoot….you always walked out feeling better than when you walked in…even if you did not have a problem. Off work, on the golf course he was the ultimate gentleman no matter how poorly you played.
Always respected you Jim….GOD SPEED! My sympathy to Carol and his family.

I had the honor to work with Jim through DIHN and then through Families Moving Forward. He was an incredible person and he will be missed tremendously by his FMF family. My thoughts continue to be with his family during this time.
