He was a great guy guy then and now reading about his life , with a beautiful family and sucess in business, I am not surprised at all.Sorry for your loss and sorry we did not continue to share after college.

Condolence from Dave Slade on October 3rd, 2013 12:00 am

To Cass,

I am so sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. He was a truly wonderful guy, always so friendly, warm and confident. I am sure you two have had a beautiful life together – his obvious success in business and in creating an undoubtedly beautiful family with you are what we would expect of Jim.

High School is such a long way away, but, when I think of you both, it seems like just yesterday. We have been thinking a lot about our high school friends lately as we plan our 50th reunion for October 2014. You two are one of the few couples I know who go back all that way and we were looking forward to seeing you both at the reunion. We will certainly miss Jim. We would love to see you, catch up with you, and hear more about your lives since high school, so please join us if you can. You are in my heart and thoughts.

I met Jim through Old Chatham. I was also fortunate enough to go on the golf trip to Ireland with Jim and a group of OC guys. I didn’t know many of the members at OC or on the trip but Jim was always so welcoming and friendly. I miss him although I saw him only infrequently. He was a special friend.

Dear Swon Family,

Heard from my mom today that Jim passed away. First thing I said , I remember how he made me laugh. I am sure Jim is already scheduling tee times above. God Bless. He was a good man. Rex Urschler

I worked at Varian for 5 years and Jim was a wonderful person. He knew everyone’s first name and cared about all his employees and their families. I am proud to have known him.
