Howard Buddy Winston Pearce

Howard “Buddy” Winston Pearce, 73, of Franklinton died Sunday afternoon, April 13, 2008, at Wake Med Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Buddy was born in Franklin County to the late Richard S. and Lizzie Pergerson Pearce on November 29, 1934. He was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church who influenced many people during his life with his strong Christian faith, his amazing work ethic and his simple but happy lifestyle.
Buddy is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Camilla Kearney Pearce; his three sons: Tarbie Pearce, Jerry Pearce, and Danny Pearce; his two daughters: Wanda Oakley and Yvonne Lane and their spouses. They all reside in Franklinton. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; five sisters: Ester Weltman of WV; Mae Blackley, Sarah Stevens, both of Franklinton; Betty Enlowe of Butner; and Andelia Watkins of Rolesville; his brother, Richard Pearce, Jr., of Fayetteville; and many friends. Buddy was preceded in death by his sister, Mildred Blackley and two brothers, Melvin and Lawrence Pearce.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Carl Hunter presiding.
Friends may visit with the family following the service in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Building Fund, 1245 Mt. Olivet Church Rd., Franklinton, NC 27525.
