Helen Workman Woody, 83, of Morris Road in Pittsboro died December 18, 2009 at her home. A native of Cany, Oklahoma, Mrs. Workman was born June 13, 1926 to Jennings and Lora Smith Workman. She was a retired cosmetician, and a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie & Sandra Woody of Pittsboro; daughters and son-in-law, Susan & Brent Blietz of Charlotte, Sharon & David Scott of Pittsboro, Diane Ramsey and her children Matthew Caddle and Rachel Fields, of Pittsboro; brothers, Travis, Wayne and Harley Workman all of Oklahoma City, OK; seventeen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren. Her husband James, and son Michael, preceded her in death.

The service to celebrate Mrs. Woody’s life will be conducted at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Robinson presiding. Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service.

Memorial contributions may be directed to either the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, or to Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.
