Mark Higgins, president of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service & Crematory, will speak to Dr. Allen Verhey’s elective class on “Resurrection” April 14th at Duke Divinity School.
Higgins is a frequent lecturer at Duke Divinity School discussing topics on the theology of funerals, clergy/pastor relations and grief issues in pastoral care. Dr. Verhey is an eminent Christian ethicist whose work has focused on the application of Christian ethics in the area of medical and health practice. He has been widely published as the author, editor or co-editor of 12 books including “Reading the Bible in the Strange World of Medicine.”
“Working with Dr. Verhey and speaking to his class is always a privilege,” said Higgins. “At Hall-Wynne, our staff is in constant contact with clergy. I am excited to share the knowledge we’ve collected throughout our years of service with the next generation of clergy.”
In addition to speaking at school/university events, Higgins and the staff at Hall-Wynne frequently speak to community groups, churches and other organizations on end-of-life issues such as grief/bereavement, funeral rituals, memorial planning as well as funeral pre-planning.
