Condolence from Mona L. Russell, and family on January 11th, 2011 12:00 am

Mr. and Mrs. White, I have been friends with your daughters for about thirty years. While I only met Gerald a few times, I know what a wonderful individual he was. I cannot imagine the pain of watching your youngest child pass in what should be the prime of his life. My heart goes out to all of you–Jennifer and Stacy–as you try to explain this tragedy to your children when you do not understand it yourself.
“Here I sit between my brother the mountain and my sister the sea. We three are one in loneliness, and the love that binds us together is deep and strong and strange.”–Kahlil Gibran

As a young boy Gerald was a member of my Cub Scout Troop in Laurel Hills. He was a very sweet boy and a joy to know. My sincere condolences to his family.

Condolence from Darren Waechter on January 11th, 2011 12:00 am

I’ve know Gerald since we were little kids in Cub Scouts back in Elementary school but spent the most time hanging out in high school after reconnecting through a mutual friend. Although we lost touch after a few years each time I ran into him he always had a smile on his face and enjoyed catching up. My sincere condolences to his family and all who ever knew him. We’ll miss you buddy.

Condolence from William on June 2nd, 2019 9:27 pm

I met GW through a mutual friend.. we hit it off immediately had a lot of same Hobbies I used to go to his house in Pittsboro and play pool a lot which he consistently beat me no matter how long the night went on. He was a real Hustler. I think I probably beat him twice. One of my Fondest Memories of Gerald was we all went to Snookers over there by the shopping center off Ridge Road. I kept telling my friend don’t bet him any money playing golf cor. Of course my friend did not listen. Late $100 on the table. Miraculous the old GW sobered up real quick and took his money like nothing even happened. I can only look at my friend and say I warned you. He was that type of guy one of the coolest people I’ve met there’s not many days they go by that I don’t think about him I only knew him very closely for a couple of years but he means a lot to me. I wish you all the best condolences and to remind you that these problems do not Define us. He was one genuine soul. Some of the craziest memories I have where with Gerald, and I cherish them. I wish your family the utmost condolences. Losing a loved one is very hard. But using a loved one like GW is something else entirely. HE IS WITH US EVERYDAY I SPIRIT
