Ethan James Olson-Getty

Ethan James Olson-Getty, infant son of Eric and Dayna Olson-Getty, was born and died on Monday, August 31, 2009 in the arms of his parents.

In addition to his mother and father, he is survived by his grandparents Wayne Olson of Hubbell, MI and Richard and Janet Getty of Rutland, VT; great-grandparents, Betty Pike of Swanton, VT and Natalie Olson of Manistique, MI. He is predeceased by his grandmother, Patricia Olson.

A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held 3:00 PM Friday, September 4, 2009 at the St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church.

Burial will be held in East Clarendon Cemetery, Rutland, VT.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to L’ Arche USA www.larcheusa.org or to YO: Durham Year of Opportunity for Durham Teens, www.yodurham.org. Please click “donate”, then select “In Memory of” and then “Ethan James”.

Eric and Dayna, my name is Cara Tyrrell and I facilitate Share Southern Vermont, a pregnancy and infant loss support group. We are so sorry for all that you lost as your sweet baby Ethan left you. Please know we are here, and are willing to support you during your time in Vermont in any way possible. Our next support meeting happens to be Wednesday evening at 7pm. If you want to sit with other parents who have lived it, you are welcome. Whatever you need – that is what we are here for.

Dear Eric and Dayna
We didn’t have the privilege of meeting you, Dayna but we have know Eric since he was a little boy. Please know that we are so sorry for your loss. We will keep the whole family in our prayers and ask our”kids” Jenni, Nathan ,Tessa and Adam to also keep you in prayer in this immediately sad time and as you look to healing in the future. Lean on the Lord. Let Him surround you with His strength and Love. Cling to each other as well with love and understanding.
