Mrs. Estelle Brooks Bouldin, 82, died November 8, 2011 at Pittsboro Christian Village.

Born in Moore County on June 27, 1929, Mrs. Bouldin was a daughter of Lucian J. Brooks and Beulah Rosser Brooks. Mrs. Bouldin worked as manager for Raymond Bouldin Construction Company for a number of years, and later worked at Pittsboro Christian Village after she became a resident there. She was an “organizer” and loved to do for others. She was recognized for her card ministry over the years, by sending all types of cards to folks during and following their various circumstances. Mrs. Bouldin was also a good seamstress; she also baked wonderful cookies and mounds. Mrs. Bouldin was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church, and also sang in the Sandy Creek Association Senior Choir.

Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Ray and Jennie C. Bouldin of Pittsboro; daughters and sons in law, Merle and Ronnie Gaines of Pittsboro, Gloria and Shane Tolliver of Salisbury, and Joyce and Mike Frank of Pittsboro; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister in law, James and Cathren Brooks of Siler City; and a sister, Laura Kellen of Florida. Her husband, Raymond K. Bouldin, Sr. preceded her in death February 22, 2010; as well as seven siblings.

The funeral service for Mrs. Bouldin will be held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, November 11, 2011 at Emmaus Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Moore presiding. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family in the church fellowship hall following the funeral service, and at other times at the residence of Ray and Jennie Bouldin.

Memorials may be sent to either Pittsboro Christian Village, 1825 East St., Pittsboro, NC 27312, Emmaus Baptist Church, 2430 Silk Hope-Gum Springs Rd, Pittsboro, NC 27312, or to Son Shine & Blessings, 298 Lindo Johnson Rd, Pittsboro, NC 27312.

Dearest Family: To say we are going to miss “Estelle” is an understatement! She was such a beautiful friend, constantly the same, always encouraging even when she was “down”. Faithful to her God, her family & her friends..I feel your loss. But I also rejoice with you because I know today she is rejoicing with Raymond and so many others. And that fills that sad place with so much joy as I know it does yours. I love you all and I know God is watching over you tenderly. You are in my prayers.
