Ed dated my Mom, Snodean Jacobs, for the past 17 years. He spent every Christmas and Thanksgiving with our family and he became one of our own. He called my mom twice a day to check on her and came over every Wednesday evening, Saturday night and Sunday night to take her to church and visit. They were best friends. He was like a second dad to me and I have wonderful memories of talks with Ed. He loved Fox News and Carolina! We loved Ed and will greatly miss him.

I have thought of Mr. Frazier so many times over the years. I met him when he was manager of Byrd’s Food Store (Hillsborough Road, Durham) more than 35 years ago. I remember “going to bat” for him when he was fired from Byrd’s when the store was robbed. I took it upon myself to call headquarters in Burlington and “gave them a piece of my mind.” He was asked to come back, thank goodness. I’m sure I was probably not the only call they received. I adored him and so did all his employees and customers. Heaven got a good one.
