Edna Farrell Mann

Mrs. Edna Farrell Mann, 97, passed away Monday evening, August 9, 2010, in her home following a period of declining health.

Mrs. Mann, the daughter of Eugene Milton Farrell and Ruby “Luby” Pendergrass Farrell, was born December 6, 1912 in Chatham County. She was a supervisor for Pittsboro Throwing, having retired from there after 45 years of service. Mrs. Mann was a member of Hanks Chapel United Church of Christ.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Foy R. Mann; five grandchildren, Bertha Smith and husband Arthur, David Mann and wife Donna, Patricia Mann, Amy Meacham and husband Wayne, Donald Mann and wife Tammy; nine beloved great-grandchildren, three beloved great-great-grandchildren; and a much loved extended family. Mrs. Mann was the widow of Seaton Mann, to whom she was married for 70 years; and the mother of Winfred Leroy Mann, who preceded her in death July 17, 2009.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6 – 8 pm Wednesday at Hall – Wynne Funeral Home in Pittsboro and at other times at Mrs. Mann’s residence.

The service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Edna Mann will be held at 11 am Thursday from Hanks Chapel United Church of Christ. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to either Hanks Chapel UCC Piano and Organ Fund, PO Box 366, Pittsboro, NC 27312, or to UNC Hospice, PO Box 1077, Pittsboro, NC 27312.

Foy and family,
I am very sorry to hear of Ms. Edna’s passing but she lived a very full life and enjoyed it to no end. She was a wonderful lady, friend,wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. She will be missed by so many people that loved her, as she loved them in return. She use to cheer us on at the softball games no matter if we won or lost. Cherish all the memories and hold them close at heart. Love you all.

Granny Mann was a spunky,sweet,and loving lady. She will be greatly missed. I wished I had spent more time with her. I am sure I would have been a better person for it. Heaven just got a little more lively!

to the family sorry to hear of Mrs. Enda passing she was my co-worker at pittsboro throwing and she also train me in all my jobs and was so nice and fun loving, she was a special lady to me and all people in general, may God give the family strength and please know that God wanted a special flower to put in his garden and chose Mrs. Enda.
