
Dovie Hayes Martin, age 87, of Durham died Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Duke University Hospital. Born in Person County, June 7, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Harvey Hayes and Clara Bass Hayes.
Dovie is survived by her daughters, Joyce Martin Enoch and Carolyn Martin both of Durham; son, Paul J. Martin and wife, Lauren of Bahama; sisters, Sylvia Martin and Jeweral Burnette both of Burlington, NC; grandchildren, Joseph and Margaret Martin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Martin, sister, Lovie Whitmore, brothers Lee, Sylvester, Aldophus and Harding Hayes.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday in the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service with The Rev. William Austin officiating. Burial will follow in Markham Memorial Gardens.
Friends may visit from 1:00 -2:00PM Sunday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, Durham.
