I cannot express my deep sense of loss at hearing that Mrs. Rogers has passed away. I have great memories of her as my kindergarten Sunday School teacher and the wonderful advent craft nights at Oxford United Methodist Church! The Rogers family has always been supportive of my family and I! I hope that my children can have such a wonderful witness in their lives that will leave as much of a lasting impression on their lives as Mrs. Rogers has left on my life. She will be truly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of her family and friends, especially to Barbara!

I cherish the memories of growing up and spending time with Barbara, Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Gene. They were truly an inspiration to me as a child and have been since. I know Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Gene are back together again and will always be watching over Barbara while they hold hands with a precious smile on their faces. On a visit to see Aunt Dorothy, I mentioned Uncle Gene’s name and Aunt Dorothy’s face lit up and she said, “my husband”. I will never forget that smile.

I loved Dot Rogers. What a wonderful example she was of what a Disciple of Jesus Christ should be. She was also kind, devoted, smart and funny.
There truly are very few if any like her left that I know.
    Sincerely,
