Dorothy Mae Buck Blalock Palmer, 82, peacefully departed this world on August 14, 2015, at home surrounded by her love ones, then began her journey for heaven and was welcomed into the presence of her Savior.

She fought a faithful and valiant fight to stay alive and be with the ones she loved so dearly.

Ms. Dorothy was a woman of faith and beauty and the heart of the Palmer/Blalock family.

Of all the things she accomplished in her life nothing compared to being with her beloved husband James, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Her gift of joy showed through her constant smile, laughter, and zest for life and will never be forgotten by all who knew her.

She loved the holidays and special gatherings with her family.FootprintsInTheSand copy

My sweet grandma was a beautiful lady, who had an abundance of love for her family and friends. Her smile was the sweetest of anyone I’ve ever known. The first I remember of the gift of prayer was when her and my grandpa were praying for my brother who was very sick. They were on each side of their bed, on their knees. I had never seen anyone pray on their knees. Even as a young child, I realized that prayer was real. That is one of my most precious memories. Through the years I have grown in my faith and seen that prayer truly is an amazing gift that God has given to all of us. I have so many great memories, but that one was something that opened my eyes and heart. Grandma called me her “ladybug”…..and her ladybug I will always be. She loved me unconditionally and I loved her just the same. My heart is so broken, but because of Jesus’ blood, I know that I will be with her in eternity. I didn’t say goodbye the last day that I whispered the things I wanted to tell her. I simply said…I will see you soon. That was the last time I will ever have to speak those words to her. We will be together for eternity. I was blessed to be able to call her…Grandma.
