I just wanted you to know how sorry I am to hear about David. My prayers are with you as you make your way through the next few days. They are with David now, as he makes his way through where we cannot go.

I’ll always remember David as a very happy, reliable, and loyal person. We were all blessed to have had the opportunity to know him and share time with him. My heart will always hold warm memories of countless hours rehashing old Andy Griffith shows “big Maude, alias Ralph Henderson”; “Al, if these burgers burn”; and many others. My deepest sympathies to Anna and the Strickland family.

Anna, in the coming weeks, please know that no matter what time of day or night you need to call or to “just talk,” we will be there for you! You and David’s family will be in our thoughts. We can assure you that the pain lessens as time passes, as the happy times are what will be remembered! Though we only shared a few with you, we know there were a lot of happy times! I’m very sorry to hear of David’s passing. Although it has probably been 20 years since I last saw David, I’ll always have fond memories of him. I’m 3 years younger than David, but he was a friend in both high school and at NCSU. David Satterwhite, Jeff Wrenn, and “Strick” carpooled to NCSU everyday my freshman year at NCSU, and I would carpool home with them on Fridays. I’ll always treasure those Friday afternoon commutes. Please know that your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Strick was a lifelong friend of mine. Thanks for including me in the service and for allowing me to say goodbye. I miss him dearly, but smile when I think of him and all the good times we had together.I will see you again. Cheers Strick!!
