The Hall-Wynne and Gentry-Newell and Vaughan staff are taking the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak seriously, and our top priority is keeping the families we serve and our staff members safe. Because this is a fluid situation, we are monitoring developments of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and following regulations from state and local officials as it pertains to personal interactions and public gatherings.

Our funeral home is operating as usual, and we are employing careful measures and some restrictions to keep our facility and equipment clean and sanitized. The professional associations of which are a member, furnish us daily updates on the pandemic and advise us on our part to prevent the spread of this virus.

While some area providers will not allow preparation and viewing of the deceased; Hall-Wynne and Gentry-Newell & Vaughan impose no such restrictions upon our clients nor any additional fees to treat anyone who dies of COVID. The CDC and others advise that the science is well established this can be done with complete safety. We know how essential saying goodbye is, especially for family members unable to be present at time of death. We are here to support this fundamental human task, and to facilitate meaningful ways to gather and honor those you love.

Finally, we encourage you to follow the CDC recommendations to take the usual steps to help prevent the spread of illness:

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes with your arm or inner elbow.
  • Wear a cloth mask while in public.
  • Avoid close contact with sick people.
  • Stay home when you are sick or not feeling well.

A Message to Our Families Regarding COVID-19:

Our business is still operating as usual, and we’re doing everything we can to keep our facility and equipment clean and sanitized. The National Funeral Directors Association also is giving us further information about how we can prevent the spread of this virus in our community.
