
Clyde H. Carroll, Jr., 85, died Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Duke Medical Center.
He was the son of the late Clyde H. Carroll, Sr. and Mable Pendergrass Carroll. Mr. Carroll was a loving and humble man who served the Lord as a deacon for many years and taught Sunday school at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. His interests included hunting, fishing and bowling. He will be remembered as a gentle and kind man who enjoyed talking to and meeting new people. Mr. Carroll was also a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Faye Crabtree Carroll; daughter, Wanda Carroll Bennett C.H. of Durham; one granddaughter, Andrea Bennett Nieves Chris of Durham; one great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Nieves; one sister, Frances Farlow and three brothers, Preston Carroll, Dan Carroll and Sam Carroll. He was predeceased by his brother, Bobby Carroll.
Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Friday at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. Mitch Caudill officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 PM at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 W. Main St., Durham.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
