Charlotte was an amazing, caring, and sweet woman. She was a true lady always dressed to perfection, lipstick on, and always prim and proper. Her smile and joyous personality lit up the room. She will be greatly missed. I loved her dearly.

I worked with Charlotte at Wright Machinery. I was just out of college, my first job. She was so wonderful to work with, so caring, so much fun. We have seen each over the years at odd times and could always pick up a conversation, like we had just parted a few days ago. My thoughts are with you. She was a wonderful person. She will be missed not just by your family, but by many folk that she touched throughout her life.

Ms Henderson was so dear to me. We would compare our ‘butterfly pins’ when she came for her radiation treatments in radiation oncology at DRH and she always lifted everyone’s spirits in the clinic with her smile and joy. She will be missed so much and our prayers are with all her loved ones at this tremendous loss.

Condolence from Darlene Marlow on April 18th, 2015 8:28 pm

Joan, I wanted to call you, but did not have your number. I’m not sure if you remember me, but I was Dr. Youngs’ technician, who always saw your mom and dad. They were always two of my favorite patients. Every time she came in, she brought us a hot dog or apple pie from the dog house. We laughed and joked about your dad, who was waiting(and fussing because the DR took too long) and then he would talk about her. I started calling him Mr. Happy! He said his wife had a dishwasher but only used it to store her Christmas dishes and she would kid about him grumbling. I adored both of them! I never met a sweeter woman and always looked forward to her visits. I saw her last at Eno Eatery and she told me she had cancer, but I was shocked about her passing. She was a true southern lady whose smile charmed everyone. I will be praying for Gods’ comfort for your family. Darlene Marlow

The example of grace and class. I will miss seeing her and hugging her neck. The Hendersons and the Homestead family were a big part of my life growing up and knowing that they are watching us from above puts a smile on my face. Love to your family.
