
Betty Freeman Gonzales, 77, of Pittsboro, died October 21, 2007 at UNC Hospital. She was born December 7, 1929 in Desha County, Arkansas, the daughter of Jack and Mina Buchanan Freeman. Mrs. Gonzales was a homemaker, and attended St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Micky L. Gonzales of Pittsboro; her son and daughter in law, Mike R. and Evelyn Gonzales of Brighton, IL; three sisters, Lota Huber, Helen Black, and Billy Jo Wright, all of Alton, IL; six grandchildren, Tony Drew, Dan Gonzales, Dax Gonzales, Khara Gonzales, Chad Gonzales, and Zach Wood; three great-grandchildren, Mark Drew, Natalie Gonzales, and Sophia Gonzales.
The service to celebrate Mrs. Gonzales’ life will be conducted by Rev. Carl Edwards at 1:00 pm Friday at St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church. Interment will be private. Friends may visit with the family in the church parish hall following the service. Memorials may be directed to St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church, 204 W. Salisbury St., Pittsboro, NC 27312.
