Condolences for the family of “Betsy Jane Lawrence Huckabee”

Condolence from Patti Bazen on February 14th, 2013 12:00 am

I remember being so nervous when meeting “Mrs. Huckabee” for the first time after I began dating Eddie. She made me feel so welcome and made me feel like family. As my love for Eddie grew so did my love for Eddie Jr, Betsy,Jane and Bruce! My son, Dalton, was touched by her as well. He loved that she liked everyone to “dress” for special dinners. I am so very honored that I was able to become a part of her life as she touched my life more than she probably realized. You could tell how much she was loved by ones she touched. I will miss you “Mrs. Huckabee” and the smile on your face. My love goes with you on your new journey.

Condolence from Bess Williams Stephanz on February 16th, 2013 12:00 am

I have cherished my friendship with Betsy and loved her dearly since I first met her in 1941. Lately going with her to our Durham High reunions has meant so much to me. Betsy was so fun to be with even when she did not feel like it. I will miss her. I am sorry that bad weather and distance keeps me from being with you today. She adored Eddie, Little Eddie and Jane. My love to each of you, Bess
