DURHAM – Aphia “Amy” Williams Young, age 98, died peacefully on Friday, October 14, 2016 in her Durham home surrounded by her loving family. Amy was born in Angier, NC to the late Edward and Eula Wheeley Williams on June 20, 1918.
Amy loved children and for nine years she ran a daycare out of her home. She also loved flowers and the outdoors and spent as much time as possible working in her yard.
Amy is survived by her three loving and devoted daughters, Ann Kennison and husband, Allen of Durham, NC; Gail Dula and husband, Stephen of High Point, NC; and Pam Molinatto and husband, Jon, of Bahama, NC; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd L. Young and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service followed by burial in Maplewood Cemetery.
Friends may visit one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 in the funeral home.
