Annie Freeman Bowers, age 78, died Saturday, December 25, 2010, at her home on Laurel Mill Rd. in Louisburg, NC. A native of Franklin County, she was born on February 21, 1932 to the late John W. and Minnie May Hill Freeman. Annie was a member of Pentecostal Holiness Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Pamela Jean Dewitt and husband, Sam; Kay Johnson and husband, Jody; and Fay Allen; one son, Ray Odom; three brothers, A.H. Freeman, Joseph Freeman, and J.W. Freeman, all of Durham; two sisters, Bertha Duke and Ruby Lee Pearce of Wake Forest; five grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; and one adopted daughter, Teresa Messer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Bowers.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, December 30, at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, Franklinton Chapel, 504 E. Mason St. in Franklinton. Her grandson the Reverend Samuel Eugene DeWitt will officiate. Burial will be private in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may visit one hour prior to the service on Thursday from 1:00-2:00 PM in the funeral home and other times at 1026 MC Wilder Rd., Louisburg,
